I helped myself to a few slices of Haven, thank you very much. I don’t mind if I do.

In fact, I would say that I engulfed and indulged myself in this utopia.

It’s not that I am greedy, just that there are so many prospects that float my boat.

The Haven became my playground and I loved it.

The options are endless. For me anyhow.

Maybe I just have too many toys. Boys and their toys, love it.

The hardest part was to choose what to do. The golden hour at sunrise and sunset yields too many options.

Too many choices in the early mornings, too many scenic landscapes,

and too many bodies of water that could be explored in any other way. I don’t want it any other way.

Mother Nature is a mind-blowing marvel in so many different ways, that one doesn’t need to venture too far.

Mirror waters reflecting on myself. We all see it, most of them on the internet.

My home office was in amongst it.

Right next to the kitchen.

My entertainment for the day.

And my trusted home.

All at once, but never in the same spot. For long.

Between me and you, there’s no feeling like freedom.

You can breathe it in under the stars.

Hear it with ocean waves crashing to the beach.

Feel it when you walk barefoot on the beach. At sunrise.

Try it sometime, you be amazed by that feeling. No phones or internet are required.

The locals are friendly and always up for a chat.

Some are quite curious.

Someone was always watching me.

Food?

I have met some villagers and made new friends.

Odd bodes like me.

I almost made it to the Nationals in Sydney for a Dragonboat regatta. Covid hit first, and Neptune washed them away. Thank you for trying Camden Haven Dragonboat Inc., it would have been the grande finale of my short paddling career.
Veronica and Steve got married meanwhile, I wish this Tribe all the best for the future.
My baking family at Taste Bakehouse, still the best bakery for miles.
All of these experiences are detailed in previous photo stories on my travelblog.

I returned to the Camden Haven area for a mere 4 days for a final hooray.

This will be my last visit for a wee while and I am glad that I did.

Wet and rainy days were presented on my arrival and prevailed for most of my visit. But, my last 24 hours couldn’t have been scripted any better. The sun broke through dark clouds and tamed the chilly south westerly winds with warming rays.

This will be my last paddle practice with my dragon friends around the Camden Haven River, the waters I got to know so well. A pod of dolphins swam around us for the entire time, there must have been a dozen or so. A very special farewell from nature’s pleasing and gentle creatures. Wow, how spoilt am I? Followed by a last supper with my dragon friends.

A spectacular sunrise over the river towards a rainy North Brother Mountain rang in a rainbow reflecting on calm waters the next morning.

Simply stunning. Even the ranger left a final farewell.
I got to farewell my tasty friends for the very last time before setting off.
This will be my last post about Camden Haven. Thank you to those who liked, shared, and appreciated my stories and added nice comments. Feel free to subscribe to my blog for previous or upcoming stories. Which will be pretty much the same as the ones you read about Camden Haven, only in Africa. It’s not a scam, I am not a robot and no fees will be charged.
It was a pleasure being part of this community for a year, I mean it.
