Dark grey clouds created a mouthwatering backdrop on sun lid objects.

And objects I found.

Not far from the rivers edge was an area of curious scurrilous beauty. Who wood have known?

Was it a bizarre twist in shimmering light?

Maybe a glistening glimmer flickering on an opaque stage?

No poetry is in motion within this society. It is a forest of a different kind.

A forest unexpected in size.

A forest that could appear in any fantasy movie.

Dead trees stood tall amongst each other, reaching to the skies like oversized skeletons.

Fallen timber had merged large branches on the soil like a game of dominos.

Creating a wooden labyrinth of natural beauty.

This is no ordinary place. It captured my creator’s imagination straight away.

The rains dropped and repainted lifeless trees and twisted branches to perfection.

The colors are saturated as they are glistening against the shady backdrop.

Rainbow colors covered the base, not the sky. Shapes and patterns complemented a complete picture.

Although this lumber doesn’t produce any oxygen anymore and appears lifeless to the naked eye, it couldn’t be any further from the truth.

Nature doesn’t waste but recycles. And where there is death, life appears just as quick.

Dead trees are a vital part of any natural environment and are reliant on wildlife.
The hollows are welcoming housing for many bird species. Swallows and starlings travel an extraordinary length to escape freezing winters in Europe.

The birds come here to feed and breed. They have been waiting for this event. The rains triggered an explosion of flying ants and termites.

These emerge in their millions as the grounds get flooded.

Termite mounds are waterproofed and usually on higher grounds. It is the new brute to fly out and colonize new territory. Insects, big and small are the beginning of any food chain in the natural world.

Mammals find shade and shelter within this wooden labyrinth. Most come out in the dark.

Herbivores follow the grass as it is greener on the rainy side. The ground is fertile as fresh grass shoots attract grazing wildebeest.

The wild beasts look rather tame in torrent conditions.

No one I spoke to could give me a reasonable explanation of this natural deception.

Termites could be an explanation as a decease.

Or maybe the cyanide levels are indeed too extreme in these conditions.

Who wood know? Just like poetry, you need to read between the lines.
