Let the games begin.

This triangle is a notorious section where Blues appear and disappear. Like a game of thrones, each kingdom collected as many blue, shiny objects as they could.

Good as gold, a bower covered in shiny blues is a big draw card and increases a female’s seduction.

All bowerbirds have bright blue eyes and therefore prefer blue objects.

It’s commonly known, that blue washing pegs or other shiny objects disappear from households. A straight giveaway off who the culprit may be.

I made it a bit easier for my acting stagers. I collected blue milk bottle tops and stuck them to twigs or branches. That gave me a perfect photo opportunity.

These blue objects were highly sought after. I usually placed one cap out in the morning whilst depositing fruit and seeds. Often enough, the fruits were ignored before the treasure was secured.

But that doesn’t mean that the treasure was safe.

Raiding knights from each empire set out to search and collect. Much to my entertainment.

I have counted up to a dozen blues in one bower. The next morning, most of them had moved to the other bower.

And just as in human society, the more one kingdom has, the less the opposition has to offer.

Shiny colourful feathers from rosellas were another sensual treasure. I have reason to believe, that those feathers may have been pick-pocketed.

Summer is also the time to regrow feathers and there may be a natural cause.

A certain small green leaf was often used which appeared to be a mint leaf or so. Possibly, smell is just as important as good looks.

If one young bird was caught in the thieving act by the returning owner, the crook pleaded his innocence, claiming he was ‘just looking’.

Their body language is just as obvious as ours.

If the emperor himself conducted such an incursion, the other males had no option but to watch.

It was a bit heartbreaking seeing him pulling out those bower sticks and flying off with his treasure.

Maybe he did him a favour by building an even better and stronger stage.

All chipped in as the chirping began once more.

On either side of the fence.

Never give up is a natural instinct us human should learn from.

Nothing more to add.
