It doesn’t happen often, that I have more photos than words for my photo stories.
A Pirate ship in Camden Haven? How often does that happen?
I didn’t even know such an amazing ship existed, little more than it was due to anchor on the Camden River.
But that’s the way it is with the Notorious Espain, a replica sailing boat from the time of early exploration.
Cruising up and down the east-coast and anchoring in various locations along the way. What an adventure.
I did venture to the opening sequence on dock no.1 but failed to gather much information about this vessel from its captain or the first mate.
Visiting hours means treasure and much-needed funds for this enterprise. Many people, just like me, were intrigued.
And surprise, surprise; I was busy with camera in hand.
Not only was I engaged with my camera, but just as well with my drone.
A photographic and video graphic opportunity like this just doesn’t come around often enough.
The vessel fitted perfectly in an already scenic landscape. How remarkable is this?
Adding to this amazing picture were outstanding weather conditions.
Calm and sunny days were screaming out for snapshots.
What I appreciate most about the Notorious Espain is the passion and dedication it was built on.
It is the foundation of any establishment. It’s an inspiration for all of us. The time and money spent on this enterprise are remarkable. 11 years in the making, planning, organizing, and putting plans into action.
My Pirate hat goes up to the captain and deckhands, what a tremendous effort.
Instead of building a house or a modern and comfortable yacht, a caravel was the chosen subject.
We need more enthusiastic people like this in our modern high-tech world.
Highly skilled craftsmanship which is slowly dying out.
Craftwork of education.
Dexterities of evolution.
Skills of the past as a reminder of where we came from. Without them, we wouldn’t be here in the first place.
It is an inspiring experience to see a ship like this sailing by the coastline. I can imagine Captain Cook looking through his telescope and shouting out.
‘Ayy, Captain; Three Brothers ahead.’ Who wouldn’t want to be a Pirate on board?
Imagine the vessel is anchored nearby and you didn’t see it because you didn’t know?
The Notorious Espain sails up and down the east coast for most of the year as far as I know.
But the easiest way to find out its location and destination is by following the ship on FB under Notorious Ship.
This way you can actually get down to the waters edge and track down a 1500 BC sailing ship with your own eyes. Take your friends and family down for a funday out.
So, please, follow the dolphins to follow and support this sailing ship to stay afloat.
Our future is built on our past.
Hats of to the captain and its crew… incredible achievement

Breathtaking series of photographs. Like best: ’Cruising'”- the caravel in flight, like a silhouetted albatross returning to sea. Also like those offering a clear view of the vessel’s craftsmanship, bended sails and her unusual curved shapes.
